My path to becoming a doula began while reading the book Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom which introduced me to the idea that true healthcare considers the needs of body, mind and spirit. I believe that my work as a doula honors the spiritual nature of a woman's transition to motherhood. I strive to help women enjoy positive birth experiences through educated choices, a spirit of flexibility, and celebration of feminine wisdom.

I encourage the individuals and families I work with to create a vision of their ideal birth experience and work towards that goal through informed choices. I provide wholehearted support at all types of births, from planned homebirth to planned c-section, because I believe an educated choice is each family's right as well as their responsibility. I specialize in working with couples using self-hypnosis relaxation techniques as part of their birth experience although my services are available to all. I welcome the opportunity to work with diverse and non-traditional families, including same-sex couples.
